Introducing a unified GTM strategy transformed Hoffman's market position, growing traffic, visibility and pipeline.
A recognized name competing in a crowded market
Hoffman is a well-known name in sales training, with powerful intellectual property around its celebrated coaching methodology. A wave of enterprise sales training and consulting firms had converged onto the market, competing for the same searches and the same buyer attention.
Brand recognition inside the industry wasn't translating into visibility across the channels where buyers were actually shopping.
A visibility problem on the surface, an untapped client base underneath
Hoffman's organic search presence lagged behind competitors running with bigger content budgets, and its G2 profile carried a fraction of the reviews carried by category leaders. These were the two places most buyers looked first when researching sales training providers.
Though Hoffman had hundreds of happy past clients, the team lacked a strategy for reactivating those sales training "alumni" into new sales training engagements.
One GTM plan, built around four connected workstreams
As Director of Marketing and later VP of Marketing, Val built a unified go-to-market plan that treated organic visibility, social proof, pipeline recovery, and sales positioning as parts of the same problem instead of separate initiatives.
The SEO work started with AI-assisted research, using LLMs and SEMrush to identify keyword opportunities and competitive gaps, then applying that research across the site. Val used Claude to apply on-page optimization to more than 100 existing blog posts, turning content Hoffman had already published into content that could actually be found. In parallel, a review acquisition strategy drove 245% growth in G2 review, with Slack-integrated intent data alerts landing live G2 search activity directly in front of sales. A win-back campaign targeted dormant and lapsed opportunities, and updated battle cards and competitive positioning gave the sales team language built to win.
Every workstream moved the same number: Hoffman's share of the conversation
The SEO and content work drove organic traffic on sellhoffman.com up nearly 3,000% between January 2024 and April 2025. The G2 and social proof strategy ran in parallel, growing reviews by 245% and giving sales concrete third-party validation to point to in competitive deals.
The win-back campaign engaged more than 500 unique dormant opportunities and generated $50M in pipeline value, recovering demand Hoffman had already paid to generate once. Updated battle cards and competitive positioning gave the sales team language built for the enterprise consulting firms it was now up against, rather than the market it had been selling into years earlier.
